Introduction to Graduate School
Like other state-of-the art engineering sectors, the automotive engineering sector is an integration of various types of engineering knowledge. The sector, also, is closely related to other sectors. For these reasons, the goal of the department is to educate students to be engineers with useful knowledge and skills in various fields such as mechanics and electrical engineering.
To provide professional knowledge, students are provided with courses like Applied Mathematics, Finite Element Theory, Numerical Analysis, Data Analysis, basic courses for vehicle parts and general engineering methods, including Precision Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Vehicle Factor Design, and Chassis Design. Courses to learn core elements for vehicle operations, such as engine operation and for controls like internal combustion engine, combustion engineering, engine system and control, vehicle electronics control systems are also offered. Students have chances to learn thermodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and fracture mechanics. To prepare for the latest electronic technologies for vehicles, research on digital control systems and, application for microprocessor are being carried out.
To support theories with experiments, different facilities and equipment, such as Vehicle Experiment lab, CAD/CAM lab, UTM lab, Vehicle Dynamics and Control lab, Nondestructive lab, Applied Computational Analysis labs are provided.
